Winter in Blogland block 5

Vandaag krijgen jullie de 1ste hoekblok voor de rand. Hiervoor moeten jullie even bij Els op bezoek gaan. Bij haar kunnen jullie de blok downloaden.

" Winter in Blogland" block 4

Ja, vandaag ben ik aan de beurt.  Jullie ontvangen blok 4. Dit is het laatste middenblok. Volgende week krijgen jullie het 1ste blokje van de rand. Zo mee en mee begint het op te schieten.We zitten nu al op de helft......

Zijn jullie ook al flink bezig met het naaien van de flying geese rand ??
Ik hoop dat jullie allemaal de tijd hebben om de blokken klaar te krijgen en dat de quilt dit jaar nog aan de muur kan hangen, maar ja, de winter zal nog wel een tijdje duren, dus dat zal zeker lukken. 

Ik hoop dat jullie blok 4 leuk vinden en er met veel plezier aan werken.

Yes, today it's my turn to give you block 4. This is the last block for the center. Next week you will recieve the first corner block from the border. We are halfway now....

Did you already started with the Flying geese border ?? I hope you will have the time to make the blocks and that you can hang the quilt this year. But never thelese, the winter just started. 

I hope you like block 4 and enjoy stitching it.

Spaghetti quilt

Jullie zullen wel denken, "spaghetti quilt " ????
Ja, ik zal het jullie uitleggen. Je neemt een jelly roll. En naait deze met de korte kanten aan elkaar. Je kan dit met de rechte kanten doen of je snijd deze eerst nog even schuin op 45°. Je krijgt dus nu een heeeele lange strook van ca. 6 cm ( jelly rol breedte)  breed en ca. 40 mtr. lang ( 40 x stofbreedte). 

Snijd nu van de 1ste strook ca. 50 cm.af is ongeveer de helft. Neem nu het begin en het uiteinde en naai deze over de gehele lengte (  20 mtr. ) aan elkaar. Je hebt dus nu 2 stroken naast elkaar en een lengte van 20 mtr. Let er wel even op dat de stof niet gedraaid is. Neem nu weer het begin en einde en naai deze  aan elkaar. Je krijgt nu 4 stroken naast elkaar en een lengte van ( 10 mtr.) ga zo door totdat je  ongeveer een maat krijgt van ca. 1.25 x 160 mtr.Is dit niet een leuke en snelle manier om een gezellige quilt te maken.  Dit is toch een een mooie maat om lekker mee op de bank te liggen!! 
Ik hoop dat het een beetje duidelijk is.

You will think " Spaghetti Quilt" ???
Yes, I will excplain. Take a jelly roll.Sew these with short ends together. You can do this with straight lines or cut the ends on 45°. You wil get a loooong strip from  2½" jelly roll width  and 1600". long ( 40 x WOF) 
Cut from the first strip 21" is almost half. Take now the beginning and the end of the strip. Sew these together over the whole lenght. You will reciev a strip from 2 strips 5" x 800". Take now again the beginning and the end and sew again over the lenght. Be carefull that the strips are not turned. You will get now 4 strip next to each other and lenght 400". Go further on this way till you recieve the size you want. Isn't this a great way to make something easy , fun and comfortable for a quilt to lay under on the couch!!

" Winter in Blogland" block 3

Alweer een week voorbij, wat gaat het toch snel. Deze keer moeten jullie op de blog van Els kijken voor de 3de blok. Els houdt van sneeuwpoppen, maar dat wisten jullie zeker al. Het was voor haar dan ook geen enkel probleem om met dit Winterproject mee te doen.

Again it's friday and that will say that you recieve block 3 . This time you will have to visit Els. Els loves Snowmen, I think a lot of you already knew this. So it was not a problem at all that she would participate this Winter project.

" Winter in Blogland" block 2

Vandaag ontvangen jullie blok 2 van de Winter in Blogland quilt.
Hiervoor moeten jullie naar Inés en Marta.                                             Deze 2 creatieve dames heb ik in Frankrijk getroffen, zij hadden daar een ook een Stand. Helaas ben ik vergeten een foto te maken, maar op hun blog kan je hierover nog het een en ander lezen. Helaas spraken zij geen Engels, en ik helaas geen Spaans,maar ondanks dat begrepen we elkaar toch. Het was leuk om deze "meiden" te ontmoeten.

Today you will recieve block 2 from the Winter in Blogland Quilt.
You will have to visit Inés & Marta I met these 2 creative ladies in France, unfortunately I forgot to make a picture. But on their blog you can see and  read more about it. Unfortunately they didn't speak Englisch, and ofcourse, I don't speak Spanisch. But we understood each other.It was so nice to meet these "girls".
